Upcoming harbor meeting is important

A resolution of the controversies over mooring issues, and associated changes in the Harbor Management Plan, will benefit by Jamestown residents’ input. Please plan to join in and express your opinion at the Harbor Management Commission meeting on Wednesday, March 9, at 7 p.m., at the Town Hall.

If you care to help define how our harbors function please attend. You will have an opportunity to voice your opinion of the role of the harbors in our community, the role of the marina operators, plus how moorings are priced and governed for resident, non-resident and commercial moorings. It is important to support our local democracy by helping our community define its priorities.

I will be at the meeting. Please email me at ellenwinsor@cox.net or call me at 458-5750 ahead of time if you would like to express your thoughts. It is good to be present at the public meeting since ideas between citizens can be more thoroughly exchanged in a forum and misinformation can be more readily corrected by citizens and marina operators. The island’s ecosystem comes into play as well.
