Dispose of e-waste properly

The North Kingstown Groundwater Committee is a sponsor of North Kingstown Spirit Day, and would like to remind those with ewaste that Spirit Day will offer the opportunity to safely dispose of your e-waste for the fourth straight year.

Spirit Day will be held on Saturday, March 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the North Kingstown High School.

Please be assured that our recycling company, Office Recycling Solutions, does not put any of the recycled items into landfills where the components can contaminate our drinking water. Their truck will be located in an easy-to-access spot in the North Kingstown High School parking lot near the entrance to Spirit Day, along with the Big Sisters and Blood Center trucks.

The most common items to be recycled include cell phones, computers and computer parts, cables and wires, car stereos, fax machines, keyboards, laptops, laser printers, monitors, mice, routers, radios, servers, scanners and telephones. A $2 fee per item is asked to help support Spirit Day. Other e-waste may be recycled for a slightly larger fee. For questions on other items, please call Brent at Office Recycling Solutions at 580- 7882, or visit their website – www.OfficeRecycling Solutions.com.

The North Kingstown Groundwater Committee thanks you in advance for recycling your e-waste and protecting our drinking water.
