Elizabeth D. Benoit
Elizabeth D. Benoit, 93, passed away peacefully on Feb. 22, 2011, surrounded during her last days by family and friends. She was the devoted wife of the late Everett J. Benoit Sr., who passed away on Dec. 30, 2010, and to whom she was married for 72 wonderful years.
Born in Providence on Sept. 22, 1917, she was the daughter of the late James and Sarah (Carney) King; beloved mother of Denise Benoit of Jamestown, Everett J. Benoit Jr. of Smithfield, and Robert J. Benoit and his wife Marie of Harmony; grandmother of three; great-grandmother of three; and sister of the late Raymond King, Mary Healey, Esther Matile and Pauline Thayer.
Elizabeth was a graduate of Classical High School and the Rhode Island Board of Realtors, and had worked as a realtor along with her brother Raymond for many years. She was also employed by Brown University and served as a volunteer for Meals On Wheels. The job at which she was best and most enjoyed was that of being a loving wife and homemaker to Everett and devoted mother to her three children. She had also been a member of St. Michael’s Ave Maria, and most recently, a communicant of St. Philip’s Church in Greenville.
