NKHS to hold ‘Race to Nowhere’ screening
The Jamestown Education Foundation will host a screening of the film “Race to Nowhere: The Dark Side of America’s Achievement Culture” on Monday, May 16, at 7 p.m. at North Kingstown High School.
The controversial documentary explores the “high-pressure, highstakes culture that has invaded our schools and children’s lives, creating unhealthy, disengaged, unprepared and stressed-out youth.”
It is estimated that over half a million people have attended over 1800 screenings of this film, which has received attention from national media including CNN, The New York Times, PBS, Katie Couric and The Washington Post.
