Bench warrant violation

• Jacqueline Glassie, 21, of High Street, was charged May 24 with a bench warrant violation from the Second District Court when she turned herself in at the police station, police said. Glassie paid cash bail to a justice of the peace and was not held at the station. Court dates are yet to be established at Newport District Court, according to police.

• Jonah Gadoury, 24, of East Bowery Street, Newport, was charged May 28 with a bench warrant violation from the 4th District Court for failure to appear at a pay hearing for a larceny charge. Gadoury was taken into custody at a party where EMS responded. Police were aware of the warrant, and took Gadoury to the police station where he was held and arraigned by a justice of the peace.

Expired license

Lisa M. Dupre, 43, of Cleveland Street, Wakefield, was charged May 26 with driving with an expired license after she was stopped for speeding on Walcott Avenue, police said. Dupre was not held at the police station. An arraignment was scheduled for June 3 at Newport District Court, according to police.

First offense DUI

.15/greater BAC

Christine A. Rovinski, 56, of Prospect Avenue, North Kingstown, was charged May 28 with first offense DUI with a .15 or greater BAC after she was stopped for speeding, police said. Rovinski was held at the police station where an arraignment was scheduled for June 3 at Newport District Court, according to police. First offense DUI and refusal to take a Breathalyzer test

• Eric J. Zizka, 32, of Narragansett Avenue, Newport, was charged May 28 with first offense DUI and refusal to take a Breathalyzer test, police said. Zizka was taken into custody when he was found in his disabled vehicle on Route 138 that appeared to have been in an accident. Zizka was held at the police station where an arraignment was scheduled for June 3 at Newport District Court, according to police.

• Carlo M. Ferreira, 61, of Simmonsville Avenue, Johnston, was charged May 28 with first offense DUI and refusal to take a Breathalyzer test after police stopped him on Route 138 for erratic driving, police said. Ferreira was held at the police station where an arraignment was scheduled for June 10 at Newport District Court, according to police.

• George E. Sweeney, 45, of Philmont Avenue, Cranston, was charged May 29 with first offense DUI and refusal to take a Breathalyzer test after police stopped him after observing him drive up over a curb, police said. Sweeney was held at the police station where an arraignment was scheduled for June 10 at Newport District Court, according to police.

Incident report

• On May 24, a feral cat was reported to have attacked and bit a domestic cat on Reservoir Circle.

• On May 24, a hit and run was reported on Union Street. The matter is under investigation.

• On May 25, a debit card was reported to the police and the issuing bank as having been fraudulently used. The matter is being investigated.

• On May 29, two mailboxes on Westwood Road were reported vandalized by hit and run.
