Thanks for support and donations
We would like to thank everyone who showed their support for our son Gregory and other childhood stroke survivors by joining us and contributing to our third annual Childhood Stroke Awareness Walk on May 14 at Fort Wetherill. Thanks to the generous donations of so many of you. We raised more than $4,500.
All proceeds from the walk benefit the Children’s Hemiplegia and Stroke Association, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children and families affected by pediatric stroke and other causes of hemiplegia. Funds go directly into supporting much-needed research, as well as providing scholarships for childhood stroke survivors.
A special thank you to the following businesses for their sponsorship and inkind donations: Genzyme Corporation, Island Rubbish, Baker’s Pharmacy, Dr. James Hosmer, Island Energy, Conanicut Marine Services, McQuade’s Marketplace, Spinnaker’s, Stop & Shop, Shaw’s, Walmart, BJ’s Wholesale Club, Jamestown Golf Course, East Bay Bed & Breakfast, Chopmist Charlie’s, Dimitri’s Studio, Babcock’s Karate, Newport Playhouse, Panera Bread and Showcase Cinemas.
For more information about childhood stroke, visit www.chasa.org or send inquiries to CHASA, 401 W. Green Oaks, Suite 305 No. 149, Arlington, TX 76016. If you missed our walk last month but would still like to donate, send donations payable to CHASA directly to the above address or to our home address in Jamestown.
Again, our heartfelt appreciation to all of you.
