In early March, BankNewport announced that it would be renovating the building that was opened for business in 1975. Including in the facelift was a second drive-up lane, a larger lobby, more meeting space, and an expanded safe deposit box area. “The expansion will enhance the overall banking experience for our customers, further demonstrating our long-standing commitment as a community bank and community partner,” said Thomas Kelly, CEO and president of BankNewport.

The bank remained open during renovations. Currently, it is the only bank in Jamestown – Bank of America closed its doors on April 8.
