Painting workshops to be held at farm

A series of watercolor workshops will be held at Watson Farm on July 26, Aug. 6 and Sept. 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Natalie Pfanstiehl, who has taught at the Newport Art Museum for more than 20 years, will lead the workshops.

The courses will offer painters the opportunity to experience and capture the many facets of the farm buildings, stonewalls and gardens through the medium of watercolor. Pfanstiehl will give a one-hour demonstration of landscape painting and spend the rest of the day assisting students with composition and painting techniques. Students should bring their own painting materials and a bag lunch. All levels of experience with painting are welcome. Cost is $25 for Historic New England members and $35 for non-members.
