First summer concert planned for Sunday
The Jamestown Summer Concert Series will hold its first show on Sunday, July 3, at 6:30 p.m. at East Ferry Memorial Square. Featured will be Atwater Donnelly, a Rhode Island-based folk music duo who met as volunteers at Stone Soup Coffee House in Providence in 1987 and have been singing together ever since.
Aubrey Atwater and Elwood Donnelly blend traditional Celtic ballads, dance tunes, a cappella pieces, sea shanties and American songs. They blend unusual harmonies, and play instruments including the guitar, mountain dulcimer, tin whistle, harmonica, banjo, spoons and bones.
The concert is free and open to the public. This concert will appeal to all ages, and audience participation is encouraged. In case of rain, the concert will be held at the Jamestown Recreation Center.
