Muldoon named to dean’s list at Loyola

Islander Shannon Muldoon, a member of the class of 2011, was recently named to the spring 2011 dean’s list at Loyola University in Maryland.

In order to qualify for the dean’s list, a student must have a GPA of at least 3.5 with a minimum of 15 credits.

Islander given award for community service

Georgia Wright of Jamestown, a student at North Kingstown High School, was named the 2011 recipient of the Saint Michael’s College Book Award for Academic Achievement with a Social Conscience.

The award recognizes students who demonstrate a commitment to leadership in volunteer service and academic achievement. Award recipients, named at schools throughout the country, are high school juniors who are inductees of the National Honor Society or an equivalent schoolsponsored honors organization. They must demonstrate a commitment to service activities in high school or community organizations, taking leadership roles in these activities.

Crabtree earns dean’s list honors at Loyola

Islander Madelaine Crabtree was named to Loyola University’s dean’s list for the 2011 semester. In order to be eligible for the dean’s list, a student much achieve a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

UNH awards Sakovits with high honors

Alexander Sakovits of Jamestown earned high honors for the spring semester at the University of New Hampshire. To be named to the dean’s list at UNH, students much achieved a semester grade point average between 3.5 and 3.69.
