Annual book sale at library a success
Once again, the annual book sale at the Jamestown Philomenian Library has been a great success. Need I have worried? Since becoming director for the library in February, I have been amazed at the support for the library and in the general caring and friendship of the population of Conanicut Island. What a wonderful place to live and work.
I would like to take an opportunity to thank the many people involved in the success of the book sale and the library itself: the Boy Scouts, for loading the books into the meeting hall; the many friends who assisted with set-up and break-down of the sale; the Friends of the Library who volunteered to man the table for purchases and assist buyers; the patrons who donated books and returned to buy books; the School Department for use of additional tables; and to the staff for their in-depth experience and assistance with the sale and for the many other areas of knowledge that have shared with me.
I would also like to thank Judith Bell for leaving such good instructions. Thank you.
