Diana de Koranyi Gallagher
70, of Ormond
Beach and Boynton Beach, Fla., formerly of Jamestown, daughter of Baron and Baroness Istvan de Koranyi, died on July 29, 2011.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Peter Gallagher; three children, Mia James, Stephen and Alex Gallagher; six grandchildren; and two sisters, Alexandra de Koranyi and Patricia Slingluff.
She was born and educated in New York City and graduated from Georgetown Visitation College. She moved with her parents to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, where she became an administrator for KLM Airlines.
On return to the United States, she assumed the responsibilities of Social Secretary to Ethel Kennedy during the Kennedy White House years.
She and her family moved to the Canary Islands and on their return to Ormond Beach, Diana spent 15 years as a real estate agent.
She was a volunteer for many years as a Catholic Eucharistic Minister to hospitals and taught Catechism at St. Brendan School. Diana lived a beautiful life, caring for everyone. She was an example of selfless love, not only to her husband and children, but also to her sisters and those who knew her.
