Annual rowing race to begin at Mackerel Cove
The third annual Jamestown Counter Revolution – an open-water rowing and paddling race – will take place on Saturday, Aug. 27, at 8:30 a.m. at Mackerel Cove. This year’s race will be an official East Coast Surfski Championship event.
This race pits hundreds of the world’s best rowers on a 15.5-mile trek around Jamestown. Last year’s event was the largest collection of open-water rowers in America. Organizers have partnered with Achilles
International Kayak Program to benefit disabled athletes.
Spectators are invited. The race can be seen from Mackerel Cove, Fort Wetherill, East Ferry and Fort Getty.
