Auditions for final ‘Oz’ roles take place Sunday
Although most of the major roles were cast in July, a second round of auditions for additional roles, chorus members and dancers are scheduled for the Jamestown Community Theatre’s November production of “The Wizard of Oz.” They will be held on Sunday, Aug. 21, at the Jamestown Country Club. Those auditioning must be age 7 through adult and reside or work in Jamestown.
Those between the ages of 7 and 11 should arrive at 3:30 p.m.; auditions for others begin at 4:30 p.m.
Children auditioning for a speaking role should memorize a segment or a full poem or monologue no more than 10 lines long. Adults and children auditioning for dance should bring the appropriate shoes. A parent or guardian must be present with anyone 17 years old or younger. Those 18 and older do not have to prepare for their audition.
Necessary forms are available on the theatre’s website: jamestownri.com/ jct. To audition, participants will need to print and fill out the required forms and bring them to the audition along with the membership fee.
Also needed are crew, staff and interns to help with the production.
Rehearsals will begin after Labor Day. If anyone is interested but is unable to make the audition, contact Mary Wright immediately to schedule another audition time: 741-9818 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
