Book discussion group chooses its next title

The Jamestown Philomenian Library’s book discussion group will debate “Booked to Die,” a mystery by author Jim Dunning, on Monday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m.

The book is the first in a series of novels written by Dunning that features protagonist Cliff Janeway, a Denver police officer who has a penchant for antique books and first editions.

In the novel, Dunning portrays Janeway as a tough Denver cop who succumbs to his first passion of books by giving up his badge and quitting the police force to become a rare book dealer. However, Janeway cannot give up the attraction of crime solving – or his gun.

Copies of the book are available at the library. The event is free and open to the public. The group is currently seeking new members.
