Mystery book group to discuss ‘Booked to Die’

The Jamestown Philomenian Library’s Monday Night Mystery Book Discussion Group will discuss “Booked to Die,” a mystery by author Jim Dunning, on Monday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m.

The book is the first in a series of novels written by Dunning that features protagonist Cliff Janeway, a Denver police officer who has a penchant for antique books and first editions.

In the novel, Dunning portrays Janeway as a tough Denver cop who succumbs to his first passion of books by giving up his badge and quitting the police force to become a rare book dealer. However, Janeway cannot give up the attraction of crime solving – or his gun.

Copies of the book are available at the library. The event is free and open to the public. The group is currently seeking new members and meets on the first Monday of each month at 7 p.m.
