Piano association plans first concert of season
The first concert of the Jamestown Community Piano Association’s upcoming season will be held on Sunday, Sept. 18, at 2 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church. Paul Rosenbloom, the principal pianist with the Rhode Island Philharmonic Orchestra, will be joined by members of Musica Dolce.
Rosenbloom will open the concert with Mozart’s “Rondo in A minor, K. 511.” Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Concerto No. 4 in A major” and Johannes Brahms’ “Piano Quintet in F Minor” will follow with Rosenbloom at the piano, Melody Albanese-Kelly and Meghan O’Connor on violin, Diane Guillemette on viola, and John Kelly on cello.
Musica Dolce is an ensemble of Rhode Island and Connecticut musicians organized in 1992. Rosenbloom, a founder and associate director of Musica Dolce, is a frequent soloist with the group. A reception in the church hall will follow the concert.
The concert is free and open to the public. Donations for piano maintenance and performance support are appreciated.
