Ten years ago, Cmdr. Derek Reveron of the U.S. Navy was in Washington, D.C. during the 9/11 attacks. Today, he is in Kabul, Afghanistan, where he has spent that last year supporting the development of the Afghan Army. “While 9/11 brought the United States to Afghanistan, it is by building Afghan security forces that the United States will transition security responsibility and redeploy home,” said Reveron, a Jamestowner.
