John R. Collart
2011, in Clayton, Okla., with his wife and three children by his side. He was the husband of the late Sylvia L. (Hubbard) Collart and the husband of Margaret E. (Evans) Collart.
Born in East Hartford, Conn., on July 27, 1934, he moved to Jamestown in 1936. He was the son of the late Julien and Marjorie G. (Near) Collart. He graduated from T.H. Clarke School and Rogers High School in Newport.
John served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years, specializing in link trainer repair. After retiring, he worked in hospital electronics repair and later in home security systems installation in Columbus, Ohio. He moved to Oklahoma a few years ago.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his daughters, Judi N. McReynolds and Elizabeth D. Gurganus and her husband Al, all of Clayton; his son, William R. Collart and his wife Myrna of Sacramento, Calif.; and by his sisters, Naomi R. Nelson of Wakefield and Camie C. Bates of Centennial, Colo.
He was also the grandfather of 10 and the great-grandfather of six. At his request, the scattering of his ashes will be private.
