Carolyn L. Cooper

Carolyn L. Cooper, 63, of Jamestown, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sept. 18, 2011, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.

She was the loving wife of Stephen M. Cooper for 43 years. Carolyn was born in Providence in 1947. She is a daughter of the late Claude and Violet Ross, and is survived by a sister Violet Lackey.

Carolyn is also survived by her children Michele (Chris) Desrosiers, Jennifer Dale, and Stephen R. (Abby) Cooper; and grandchildren Mariah and Matthew Dale, Simone, Margot and Ross Cooper, and Emily and Thomas Desrosiers, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Previously she had worked at The Outlet in Providence, followed by the Providence Journal. Later, she worked in Newport at Cherry & Webb. Carolyn especially loved spending time with her family and enjoyed working in her garden.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, Sept. 22, at 10 a.m. in St. Mark Church. Burial will be in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.
