Bette Davis film to be shown at library tonight

The screening of the 1956 film “Storm Center,” starring Bette Davis, will be shown at the Jamestown Philomenian Library on Thursday, Sept. 29, at 6 p.m.

The movie is about a small-town librarian who is branded as a Communist by local politicians when she refuses to withdraw a controversial book from the library’s shelves.

An encore presentation will be shown on Sunday, Oct. 2, at 3 p.m.

On Monday, Oct. 3, the Monday Night Mystery Book Discussion Group will examine “The Monkey’s Raincoat” by Robert Crais. New members are welcome. All programs are free and open to the public.
