Fiorenzano finishes 56th at Adams Cup tourney

The University of Rhode Island’s men’s golf team finished 12th out of 19 teams at the Adams Cup held at Newport National Golf Club on Sept. 19 and Carnegie Abbey Club on Sept. 20.

Jamestown resident Andrew Fiorenzano tied for 56th place out of 95 golfers with a 13-over 228. Fiorenzano shot rounds of 76 and 75 on day one, and finished up the tournament with a 77 at Carnegie Abbey.

URI had a total score of 894, 52 strokes behind the first-place University of Central Florida. Ricardo Gouveia was the individual winner with an 11-under 204 (70-68-66).

The Rams are back in action at the McDonald Cup at Yale Golf Club held on Saturday, Oct. 1, and Sunday, Oct. 2.
