Thomas Daniel Linn

Thomas Daniel Linn died peacefully on Oct. 6, 2011, at his home in Jamestown. Born in Crestline, Ohio, on Nov. 4, 1930, he was the son of Otto C. Linn and Stella (Flynn) Linn.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorrie (Oliphant) Linn, and eight children: Cynthia Griffis and husband Lawrence of Reading, Penn.; Theodore Linn and wife Nancy of Gales Ferry, Conn.; Peter Linn of Natick, Mass.; Amy Linn of Avon, Mass.; Joseph Linn of Salem, Mass.; Gregory Linn of Milford, Mass.; Jennifer Feeney and husband Michael of Uxbridge, Mass.; and Sarah Litchfield and husband Peter of Tampa, Fla. Mr. Linn was preceded in death by his son Andrew Thomas Linn. He was also blessed with 14 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Linn served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict, and graduated summa cum laude from Ohio University with a degree in electrical engineering. In 1965, he and partner Ara Aykanian founded Boston Digital Corporation, a precision machine tool company, which grew to employ over 200. He served on the board of corporators at Wentworth University for many years.

Mr. Linn resided in Holliston, Mass., for 41 years, retiring to Jamestown in 2001. He was an active member of St. Mark Catholic Church and several local choral societies. A devoted husband and father, he will be remembered as a man who lived his life with integrity and deep faith.
