Jack O’ Lantern Jog planned for Oct. 30

The Jamestown Parks and Recreation Department will hold its 23rd annual Jack O’ Lantern Jog on Sunday, Oct. 30. The proceeds for this year’s jog will go towards the Recreation Department Scholarship Fund that assists Jamestown youth who are unable to afford various programs such as Six Flags, Jamestown Summer Camp and other programs.

The race starts at 1 p.m. in front of the fire station. Registration opens at 11:30 a.m. at the recreation center. Awards and prizes will be given to the top three men and women overall, and the first woman and first man in each age category. Runners are encouraged to dress up in their best costumes as awards will be given after to the race for fastest costume, best costume, best group costume, best duo costume, best youth costume, and hardest costume to run in.

Registration can be done online (registration.strands.com) or at the recreation center. Cost is $18 before Thursday, Oct. 27, or $20 the day of the race.
