JEF elects three new board members

The Jamestown Education Foundation elected three new board members at its annual meeting on Sept. 22.

Ray Conover, a five-year resident of Jamestown, is a financial services representative at Barnum Financial Group, and has two children in the Jamestown schools. He has a special interest in improving financial literacy in young adults.

Bart Totten, a shareholder at the Providence law firm Adler Pollock & Sheehan P.C., has been a resident of Jamestown for 23 years, and has twins in the third grade at Melrose School. Totten has long been an advocate for the Jamestown school system which he attended from grades two through eight, and where his mother, Nancy Totten, taught third grade for a decade.

Kate Wright, director of the Newport Montessori School, has lived in Jamestown since 2004 with her husband James, sons Charlie and Redwood, and 3-year-old daughter Catharine. Wright holds a master’s degree in education, and has taught at Montessori for 20 years at the early childhood, elementary, and upper elementary grades.
