While we’re talking about safety . . .

The days are growing shorter. That means there are more people outside exercising after dark whether they are running, walking, skateboarding or bicycling.

It is difficult for drivers to see these people who are sharing the road with them.

Runners, walkers and skateboarders should wear reflective gear. Reflective vests are an inexpensive investment to your well-being. Don’t cover up your reflective gear in cold weather. It should be worn on the outside of your clothing where it is visible.

Those who are riding bicycles after dark should wear reflective gear and also make sure their bicycles have reflective devices and operating lights. Don’t forget to wear a helmet. It should also have reflective tape on it. Safety is foremost.
