Clips from Jamestown movies at library Friday

“Quips and Clips,” a program of clips from movies related to Jamestown and stories from Jamestowners involved in the making of the movies, will be held on Friday, Nov. 4, at 7 p.m. at the Jamestown Philomenian Library.

The eight movies featured are “Crash Dive” (1943), “A Ticklish Affair” (1963), “The Last Connection” (1976), “Me, Myself & Irene” (2000), “13 Days” (2000), “Evening” (2007), “Dan in Real Life” (2007) and “Moonrise Kingdom” (to be released 2012).

The quips will be from a technical advisor, fire department personnel on hand for rescue purposes, location and props personnel, owners of property used in the filming, a filmmaker, and people who socialized with the stars. They include Guy Archambault, Melissa Hicks, Ras Lischio. Bill Munger, Ken Newman, Babs Porter, Bill Sprague and Chris Walsh.

The program, sponsored by the Jamestown Historical Society, is the 14th of 15 programs in the yearlong “Jamestown and the Silver Screen” series spearheaded by the historical society.

The program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
