Final film of JHS series next week at library
The Jamestown Philomenian Library, the Jamestown Historical Society, the Arnold/Zweir Post 22 of the American Legion and the VFW Memorial Post 9447 will sponsor a showing of the film “Crash Dive” – starring Tyrone Power and Dana Andrews – on Friday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. at the library. Both actors were in Jamestown during the filming of the movie. Photographs with the stars and local Jamestowners will also be displayed.
This is the final program in the “Jamestown and the Silver Screen” series, a collaboration of nonprofit Jamestown organizations spearheaded by Sue Maden and the Jamestown Historical Society. “Crash Dive” is a World War II film released in 1943. It was directed by Archie Mayo, written by Jo Swerling and W.R. Burnett, and stars Power, Andrews and Anne Baxter. The film is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.
