Jack O’ Lantern Jog was a ‘huge success’

The 23rd annual Jamestown Jack O’ Lantern Jog 5K Road Race was held Oct. 30. I would like to thank this year’s major sponsors who made this race possible: World Trophies, Crystal Springs Water Company, the Jamestown Fire Department, the Jamestown Police Benevolent Association, the Jamestown Women’s Club, Jamestown Fish, the Jamestown Press, the Narragansett Café and Well Works.

I would also like to thank all the local businesses that made donations for our free raffle: Ace’s Pizza, Anita Haircut, Baker’s Pharmacy, Cathryn Jamieson Salon, Chopmist Charlie’s, Conanicut Marine, East Ferry Deli, House of Pizza, Jamestown Fitness, Jamestown Golf Course, Jamestown Hardware, Ken’s Barber Shop, McQuade’s Marketplace, Narragansett Café, Ocean Essence Spa, Oyster Bar, Purple Door, Slice of Heaven, Trattoria Simpatico, A.S. Clarke Excavating, Central Garage, Eric F. Archer, Evan Corporation, the Secret Garden, and Island Rubbish.

I would also like to thank everyone who helped out the day of the race: the Jamestown Police Department and Jamestown Emergency Medical Services, all of my fellow employees at the recreation department, Bill Piva, Ronnie Parfitt, Nate “Nitro” Nordstrom, Rob Goode, Jim McLoughlin, Bonnie Jamison and the litter corp team, and Katie Bednarcyzk and teen center volunteers. A special thanks to Andrea Masterson for being an amazing help. Thanks again to everyone who made this year’s jog a huge success.

All proceeds from the Jack O’ Lantern Jog will be used for the Jamestown Recreation Scholarship Fund.
