Arts center offers series of holiday workshops

The Jamestown Arts Center announced a series of holiday workshops beginning on Saturday, Dec. 10.

The first workshop will be held on Saturday, Dec. 10, and Saturday, Dec. 17, from 10 a.m. to noon. The course is for children ages 8 through 12 and they will be introduced to the printing press and will be taught techniques to create holiday cards and matted prints. The instructor is Casey Weibust. Cost is $45 for both sessions. Weibust will also teach an adult-level workshop of the same kind on Wednesday, Dec. 14, from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Cost is $35.

The JAC will also offer a workshop to create wrapping paper and ornaments. The instructor will be Natalie Squillante. On Saturday, Dec. 10, and on Saturday, Dec. 17, from 10 a.m. to noon, children ages 2 to 6 can work together with a parent to create Christmas ornaments. Cost is $25 per session. Older children, ages 13 and up, will have the opportunity to make ornaments and handmade wrapping paper on Monday, Dec. 12, and Wednesday, Dec. 14, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Cost is $45 for both sessions.
