FROM THE DEPTHS

The 350-ton construction barge that sank during an October storm under the Newport Pell Bridge was lifted from the bottom of Narragansett Bay on Friday. A 265-foot tall crane was used to complete the task. The crane was brought to Rhode Island from Newark Bay aboard Chesapeake 1000. More photos can be seen on NarragansettBayShipping.com.
