CIAA announces dates for Town Hall show

Artists are invited to enter their original artwork in pastels, charcoal and watercolor in the next Town Hall gallery show, sponsored by the Conanicut Island Art Association. The juror for the show will be William Heydt, a noted watercolor artist based in Newport.

The drop-off date is Thursday, Jan. 19, between 1 and 4 p.m. at Town Hall. The show will hang from Jan. 23 to Feb. 28. First-, second and third-place prizes will be awarded.

Up to three pieces may be entered by each artist. Members’ entry fees are $10 for the first piece and $5 for each additional piece entered. Non-members’ fees are $15 for the first piece and $5 for each additional piece entered.

All work must be properly framed, dried, wired and ready to hang. No saw-tooth hangers are allowed. The maximum weight is 20 pounds and maximum dimensions are 3 feet wide and 3 feet tall. For 3-D work, no piece should be wider than a foot or taller than 18 inches.
