Library announces 2 upcoming foreign films

The second film in the Jamestown Philomenian Library’s annual foreign film series will be shown on Thursday, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m. The 75-minute Italian film, “Pranzo di Ferragosto” – translated to “Mid- August Lunch” – is a dramatic comedy made in 2008. The film is about a middle-aged man named Gianni living in Rome with his imposing and demanding elderly mother. His only outlet from her and the increasing debt into which they are sinking are the increasingly frequent quiet sessions at the local tavern.

The third film in the series will be the Sri Lankan film “Kannathil Muthamittal,” which will be shown on Feb. 23.

Refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m.
