Helen (Peckham) Anderson
A lifelong resident of Jamestown, Mrs. Anderson was a daughter of the late Preston and Katherine (Donahue) Peckham.
Mrs. Anderson and her husband Jack owned Anderson’s Dairy. She later started Jamestown Designs with her daughters. She was the recording secretary for the Visiting Nurse in Jamestown in the ’50s and ’60s.
She was a member of the Exchange of Topics and Crafts in the 1950s. An avid URI basketball fan, she was designated “Fan of the Year” in 2007.
A proud mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, her greatest love and passion were her family and she was proud to be a part of their many events.
She leaves four children, Jack Anderson, Carol Anderson, Deborah Anderson Swistak and Peter Anderson, all of Jamestown; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was the sister of the late Alvin H. Peckham and Marion P. Egan.
A memorial service will be held Friday, Feb. 24, at 11 a.m. in St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church. Visiting hours are Thursday, Feb. 23, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Fagan- Quinn Funeral Home in North Kingstown.
