Mother Goose comes to Rosecliff tomorrow
The Island Moving Company will celebrate its 30th anniversary with an opening weekend beginning March 2 at the Rosecliff mansion in Newport. Artistic director Miki Ohlsen will premiere “Mother Goose at Rosecliff,” a lively retelling of the familiar nursery rhymes using movement, live music and the spectacular rooms of Rosecliff to create an interactive and entertaining performance event for children as young as 3. Children will have opportunities for participation and will be invited to meet the Mother Goose characters after the show.
Performances of “Mother Goose at Rosecliff” will be on Friday, March 2, at 4 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday at 3 p.m. The opening weekend will also include an evening celebration featuring works from the company’s diverse repertoire. The performance on Saturday at 7 p.m. will include works from guest choreographers .
Tickets are available on both the Newport Mansions and Island Moving Company’s websites.
Tickets to “Mother Goose at Rosecliff” are $45, and the Saturday evening performance price is $65. Both shows include refreshments. Saturday evening there will be a cash bar at intermission.
