Support military kids by wearing purple
April marks the nation’s Month of the Military Child. In celebration, many states including Rhode Island are participating in a Purple Up Campaign. Purple is the color that symbolizes all branches of the military, as it is the combination of Army green, Coast Guard blue, Air Force blue, Marine red and Navy blue.
The Jamestown School Departments is encouraging all islanders to wear purple on Friday, April 13, as a visible way to show support for the military children in our community. Military children often have parents deployed overseas and move many times in their young lives. Their resilience and life experiences have enriched our schools and community.
