POLICE LOG

Suspended license

Jessica McKinstry, 22, of Boon Street, Narragansett, was charged April 14 with driving with a suspended license. The defendant was held at the police station and released with a summons. A re-arraignment was scheduled for April 27 at 2nd Division District Court in Newport.

Warrant violation

• David Harpool, 23, of Hamilton Avenue, Jamestown, was charged April 13 with violation of a bench warrant from 2nd Division District Court. According to police, the defendant was picked up on the warrant and transported to court in Newport for arraignment.

• John McLaughlin, 47, of South Woods Drive, South Kingstown, was charged April 13 with violation of a bench warrant from 2nd Division District Court. According to police, the defendant was found to have been in violation of the warrant following a traffic stop on Conanicus Avenue. McLaughlin was held at the police station and an arraignment was scheduled for April 13 at 2nd Division District Court in Newport.

DUI

Gordan McGlinchey, 27, of Cottage Street, Pawtucket, was charged April 14 with first-offense DUI and refusal to submit to a chemical test. According to police, the defendant was pulled over on Route 138 for erratic operation of a motor vehicle, and was taken into custody after failing a field sobriety test. McGlinchey was held at the police station and a re-arraignment was scheduled for April 20 at 2nd Division District Court in Newport.

Drug possession

Joshua Ross, 26, of Orient Avenue, Pawtucket, was charged April 14 for first-offense possession of marijuana and possession of a schedule I, II, III, IV or V drug. According to police, the defendant was a passenger in a vehicle where the operator was arrested for DUI. Narcotics were allegedly found on Ross following a routine pat down by the officer. Ross was held at the police station and a re-arraignment was scheduled for April 27 at 2nd Division District Court in Newport.
