Leonard A. (Lenny) Brosius
65, of Jamestown, passed away unexpectedly on April 10, 2012, at his residence. Born in Danville, Penn., on June 6, 1946, he was the son of Marlin E. and Elizabeth J. Brosius, who preceded him in death.
Lenny spent his early years in Selinsgrove, Penn., and graduated from Selinsgrove High School in 1964. Shortly after graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving aboard various aircraft carriers in the Mediterranean. He was based for a time in Norfolk, Va., and later at the Naval Air Station in Quonset Point.
Upon concluding his tour of duty, he settled in Jamestown, where he resided for more than 40 years. He was employed as dairy manager at McQuade’s Marketplace, where he worked for 20 years.
In his spare time Lenny enjoyed reading and watching DVDs. He was a very generous man and was always ready to lend a helping hand wherever it was needed. He loved animals and was devoted to his dog, Rusty.
Lenny is survived by sister Karen Carlson and husband William of Harrisburg, Penn., and brother Philip Brosius and wife Brenda of Selinsgrove, Penn., as well as several cousins and many good friends and colleagues.
A celebration of his life will be held at the Jamestown Senior Center on Sunday, April 22, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Jamestown Animal Clinic or the Humane Society of Jamestown.
