JCC will hold pair of concerts in early May

The Jamestown Community Chorus will present its spring concert, “Isn’t It Romantic? Brahms to Broadway,” on back-to-back days on the first weekend in May. On Saturday, May 5, the concert will begin at 7:30 p.m., and on Sunday, May 6, the performance will begin at 3 p.m. Both concerts will take place at Central Baptist Church.

A highlight of this season’s concert will be a number of duets and solos including “Come Rain or Come Shine” and “People Will Say We’re In Love,” performed by some of the chorus’ most accomplished singers. The full program features music by Brahms, Mendelssohn, Barber, Lauridsen, Britten, Hindemith, Jerome Ker, and Rodgers and Hart. The chorus will present its annual scholarship during the Sunday concert.

Tickets are $12 for general admission, $10 seniors and students. They will be available at the door, in advance from chorus members, and at Jamestown Hardware, Baker’s Pharmacy and The Secret Garden. For more information, call 423-1574.
