Thanks for making fundraiser a success
On April 14 a lobster roll fundraising dinner was held at Central Baptist Church for Cole Grace, the 7-year-old grandson of Steve and Mary Lovegreen of Jamestown. Cole has been diagnosed with stage-IV glioblastoma, an aggressive type of brain cancer. The money raised will be used to help the family with medical and family-related expenses.
The event was a sellout and raised more than $4,300. We would like to thank Central Baptist Church for use of its facilities, Baker’s Pharmacy, Dave’s Marketplace, Jamestown Country Club, Jamestown Wine & Spirits, Barbara
Szepatowski, Mary Lovegreen, Donna Sneed, Vikki Schmidt and the Rev. Kathryn Palen for their support.
We would also like to thank the following people for their help at the fundraiser: Michelle Gibbs, Greg Gammon, Steve and Tammy Fasano, Kathy Rushton, and all the people who baked homemade desserts. We especially would like to thank all the people who supported the fundraiser by either attending the dinner or through their generous donations.
The Central Baptist Church initiated the Seeds of Hope project this year giving each participant $50 towards a cause that would plant a seed of hope in the heart of someone else. Four members of Central Baptist Church – Debbie Nordstrom, Marilyn Dennis,
Dave Dolce and myself – chose to help this family in need and could not have found a better cause. We ask that you keep Cole and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
