Ursula (Sproul) Pimentel
(Sproul) Pimentel of Jamestown passed away peacefully April 17, 2012, surrounded by family, to be with our Lord.
Ursula was born in Windsor, Maine, on Nov. 2, 1920, the daughter of the late Adelbert and Inez (Cookson) Sproul. She attended schools in Windsor and graduated from Cony High School. She received her student pilot’s license in 1938. She was a graduate of the Sisters of Charity School of Nursing in Waterville, Maine, in 1944.
She was night supervisor of nursing at Providence Hospital in Washington, D.C.; New England Baptist Hospital in Boston, Mass.; and night supervisor of nursing at Sister’s Hospital in Waterville, Maine. Ursula also worked at Gardiner General Hospital in Gardiner, Maine.
She married and moved to East Providence. She continued her nursing career at R.I. Hospital, Roger Williams Hospital and Health Haven Nursing Home in East Providence, and two other nursing homes in Smithfield. She worked as an industrial Nurse at Okonite and Washburn Wire Company of Rumford.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Moniz; son, James Pimentel, and grandson Gregory Pimentel, of Jamestown; and one grandchild, Kearston Pimentel, of New Fairfield, Conn.
Ursula was one of eight children: Madelyn York, Ruth Brann, Norma Robins, Alvas, Eleanor, Arnold and James Sproul, all of who predeceased her.
At her request, there will be no visiting hours or funeral service.
