Friends of the Library needs new members

The Friends of the Library provided more than 30 programs this year, in addition to all the children’s programs, including the summer reading. We enjoyed wonderful musical afternoons with multitalented musicians, watched an international film series, and enjoyed acting performances. We collaborated with the Jamestown Art Center in presenting the film “The Betrayal,” learned American Sign Language, learned about fraud and consumer scams, and ran a writing program for adults and children.

A glimpse of Costa Rica filled travel needs, we learned about beekeeping and how to “Plant the Future Now” by the Jamestown Community Farm. Together with the Jamestown Teen Center we sponsored a Red Cross babysitting course and we also had our flu clinic program.

These programs are all brought to the public with the funds provided by the membership drive, which the Friends of the Library is running now. A membership brochure has been inserted in this paper. Please help us bring entertainment to everyone by completing the enclosed application and mail or return it to the library with your membership check. We will never outgrow our need for “Friends.”
