Warrant violation

Lauren Davis, 26, of Mountview Road, Narragansett, was charged May 4 with violation of a bench warrant from 2nd Division District Court. The defendant was held at the police station and was arraigned by a justice of the peace. No date has been scheduled for a re-arraignment at 2nd Division District Court in Newport.

Suspended license

Jeffrey Schweigert, 32, of Magnolia Street, Cranston, was charged May 5 with driving with a suspended license. The defendant was held at the police station and released with a summons. A re-arraignment was scheduled for May 18 at 2nd Division District Court in Newport.

Multiple charges

A 17-year-old male juvenile from Jamestown was charged May 5 with first-offense possession of marijuana and misdemeanor receiving stolen goods. According to police, officers checked on a suspicious vehicle at Fort Wetherill and the subject was found to be in possession of marijuana, as well as an iPod that was reported stolen. The defendant was held at the police station and was released to his parents. A review in front of the Juvenile Hearing Board was scheduled.

DUI

Lori Clarke, 52, of Broad Street, Cranston, was charged May 5 with first-offense DUI and refusal to submit to a chemical test. According to police, the defendant was stopped on Route 138 for erratic operation of a motor vehicle. Clarke was held at the police station and arraigned by a justice of the peace. A re-arraignment was scheduled for May 11 at 2nd Division District Court in Newport.
