Volunteer needed to drive island seniors

The Jamestown Senior Center is looking for a volunteer driver who is qualified and properly licensed to provide rides to and from the center on West Street, and to take part in meal-site activities a couple days a week. The volunteer would have access to the new Recreation Department van.

According to Charlotte Richardson, director of the senior center, the volunteer would be much more than a ride and a meal. “It would be a chance to meet, greet and mingle with people, catch up on old friends, to laugh and joke with peers.”

The qualified person should have a Class 2 Rhode Island driver’s license. For more information, call Richardson at 423-1026.
