Martha E. Pemantel
Born in Newport, she was a daughter of the late Capt. William A. Sr. and Martha R. (Dutton) Pemantel.
Martha worked as a secretary for the University of Rhode Island for 34 years before retiring. During her youth she was active in many sports and was a member of the Jamestown bowling league. She enjoyed walking, traveling, bingo and the Boston Red Sox. She loved and cherished her six nieces and nephews, and eight great-nieces and great-nephews.
She leaves two sisters, Nancy J. Pinksaw and her husband Michael of Jamestown, and Laura J. Pudjunis and her husband William of Wakefield; and a brother, William A. Pemantel Jr. and his wife Patricia of North Olmsted, Ohio.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday, June 1, at 11 a.m. in Cedar Cemetery in Jamestown.
