Wind turbines ‘costly’ and ‘undependable’
Other windmill sounds exist. The almost silent rustle of dollars being extracted from us to pay for this undependable, costly source of electricity. Because wind power is not dependable, we are duplicating the capital cost of our present, reliable system.
Then, utilities must buy wind electricity at a cost much higher than their cost of generation, forcing ratepayers to further subsidize wind. And those generous federal and state subsidies allow equipment providers to avoid their share of taxes to support government services, shifting those costs to us. It’s wasteful spending with no measurable benefit.
