Four charged at house party on Dewey Lane

Four teenagers were charged on Aug. 18 when police broke up a loud party on Dewey Lane. Marcus Galvin, 18, of Narragansett Parkway, Warwick, and David St. Amant, 18, of Landon Road, Warwick, were both charged with underage possession of alcohol. Galvin was also charged with firstoffense possession of marijuana.

According to police, officers responded to a report of a loud party shortly after 4 a.m. Officers arrived on the scene and witnessed a large group of juveniles and young adults engaging in underage drinking and marijuana use. Also arrested were two 17-yearold juveniles, one from Richmond and one from Westerly. Both were charged with underage possession of alcohol. They were released to their parents.

St. Amant was released with a summons and an arraignment was scheduled for Aug. 31 at 2nd Division District Court in Newport. Galvin was held at the police station where he was arraigned by a justice of the peace. A re-arraignment was scheduled for Aug. 24 at 2nd Division District Court.
