Learn to prune plants at library presentation
A pruning presentation by Jim Normann will take place at the Jamestown Philomenian Library on Saturday, Sept. 15, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The presentation will cover tools, techniques and practical examples, along with a demonstration on the library grounds.
Normann holds a degree in botany from the University of Rhode Island. He has worked as head gardener in the Japanese garden at the Rockefeller Estate, as a horticulturist at the Hammond Museum and Gardens, and as assistant superintendent at Wilcox Park in Westerly. Normann now focuses on the pruning, planting, design and maintenance of private gardens, and regularly gives workshops and lectures on gardening and pruning.
