DEM course will teach kids about surf fishing
The Department of Environmental Management will hold a program titled “Surf Fishing: The Basics,” an introductory course on surf casting and fishing, on Wednesday, Sept. 26, from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Camp Cronin in Narragansett.
Participants will learn about saltwater tackle and gear, safety measures, surf casting and knot tying, and have an opportunity to fish at one of Rhode Island’s premier saltwater fishing areas. The program is for children ages 9 and up. Space is limited and registration is required. All materials and equipment are included with the $10 per-person registration fee.
