House inspectors still revaluating properties

Tax Assessor Ken Gray is reminding residents that if they see a vehicle marked “tax assessor” in their neighborhood, it is Vision Appraisal, a town-contracted company that is continuing to inspect houses as part of a full revaluation of property values.

Full revaluations are more thorough than the three-year statistical revaluations that were done in 2006 and 2009. Full revaluations are done every nine years and involve an interior and exterior inspection of all properties, a remeasurement, and updated photographs. All inspectors will carry a letter of introduction from the tax assessor, as well as photo identification. Their vehicles will be marked and registered with the Police Department. For questions or concerns, call Gray at 423- 9802.
